Here are a couple of things I love…Tattoos and Movies. I’m not the only fan out there, of course, but how about when the two are combined? Like peanut butter and jelly or maybe peanut butter and chocolate or even just peanut butter…wait a minute. Have to put that on my grocery list. Ok – FOCUS – Movie Tattoos, got it.
Yes tattoos and movies can make a great combination. Usually when an actor is revealed to have a tattoo it intentionally tells us something about that character. It is rare to see tattooed actors without those tattoos informing the story in some way. That’s why actors who actually have tattoos find their personal ink covered up in virtually every role they play. Here are a few actors who have a lot of ink that you never (or almost never) see in their movie and television roles;
Of course there are a lot more actors with ink but these are a few famous examples. And of course some of these actors may occasionally show their ink in a movie but only if it fits the role (Angelina’s back in “Wanted” and Johnny’s sparrow in “Pirates 1 – 17”)
But what about a tattoo that is part of the movie? A tattoo that is part of the story – not just the character’s story but the arc of the movie itself? Here are 5 iconic movie tattoos. I will put the answers at the bottom of this post in italics.
(I can’t put them in upside down like they do in magazines because I do not have ninja computer skills)
Name That Movie
How many did you recognize right away? Did you recognize any at all? Now to be fair 3 of these tattoos are from 3 of my very favorite movies so what is obvious to me may not be obvious to you.
That will be your BONUS question; which 3 tattoos are from 3 of my favorite movies?? Guess in the “comment” section and I’ll comment back to tell you if you are right. If you ARE right I will acknowledge you at the bottom of this post as an exemplary human being with excellent taste in movies… and blogs 😉
And while you’re at it which iconic movie tattoos did I miss? And don’t say “American X” cause even though that was a good movie I’m not putting that tattoo on my blog – no how no way.
ok here are the answers; 1. Black Swan 2. Hedwig and the Angry Inch 3. Kung Fu Hustle 4. Raising Arizona 5. Cape Fear
As Promised; Maurnas of www.cursitivity.wordpress.com correctly guessed that I love Hedwig and the Angry Inch – and so does she amongst a slew of other cool stuff!
