This is a completely unnecessary update/shout out to my fellow blogging “buddies” out there – you know who you are. Last week everything was going very smoothly in my little blogging world so I thought I would shake things up by attempting self hosting.
What is self hosting and how do I do it you ask? Well if this last week has taught me anything it is this, I truly have NO fucking clue. What was supposed to be a “five-minute tutorial about how to transfer your site” evolved into a 6 hour weeping fest only partially quelled by a continual whiskey drip and the kind of language that would make a sailor turn pale and have to steady himself on the furniture.
Eventually I had WordPress assist me (and I now owe Katie, Steve, Joel, Christie and Richard a bottle of whiskey) and it is DONE. So what does it mean and more importantly why I am blogging about it? I’ll tell you.
If I usually read and comment on your posts I am in recovery mode and will return soon. If I have been following your blog but didn’t email subscribe to your blog I may have “lost” you – remind me of your existence so I can find your awesome blog again! If you were reading my stuff (awww thanks) I have probably disappeared from your reader and now you can only follow me by subscribing on my site via email. Go ahead and do it – I’m super lazy and never post more than twice a week.
The reason I moved? I picked up advertisers! (you can’t have paid graphic ads on wordpress.com – don’t even try…believe me). I have never been more happy to “sell out” and I hope to add more tattoo related advertisers in the future – click on their links in my right hand bar and check em out if you like – they are super legit. And of course this now means I can finally realize my dream of getting that taco (hopefully fudgesicles are also in my future).
What is not in my future? Whiskey. Man that stuff sucks – not for me…bleh. Instead I have set a new “stretch goal” of earning enough money from my blog to get my favorite kind of dog to add to my mongrel crew of 3 dogs – a long-haired dachshund…and her name? Whiskey.
Next week – more tattoo fun and a return to Witch Doctors and Woe. Thanks for reading and following – mutual blogger support and comments etc. are by far the most fun part of this experience…and the tacos!
PS – extra EXTRA thanks to Katie xxoo
