A butcher, a baker, a candlestick maker. Well, not really. I’m Just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her. Dangit. That’s not it either. Time Lord? Nope. OK OK – Human. Loves tattoos. Has a bunch; wants more. Likes creepy stuff. Flammable. Yup. That’ll do Pig.
It has been brought to my attention that my “About” page is lacking in…ahhh…coherency? So here is some actual information – a rarity let me assure you.
I received my first tattoo at the tender age of 24 and now more than twenty years later I am a tattoo enthusiast, collector and occasional expert. I have travelled around the country collecting ink from some of the biggest names in the business and learning much about the fascinating subculture of tattoos along the way.
I assist in leading P.Ink Day which brings women who have had mastectomies together with talented tattoo artists to cover their scars with beautiful ink and heal the wounds that breast cancer can leave. This is a cause dear to my heart as I have been there myself and have the scars and the tattoos to prove it.
Tattoos cut across all segments of society and represent a cultural phenomenon that is here to stay with currently 1 in 8 Americans having a tattoo. At The Tattoo Tourist I express my love of tattoos and tattoo culture and hopefully instruct, amuse and surprise along the way. Where will I go next? Follow along with me to find out!
